First, thank you again for expressing interest in being a vendor within the Monticello Farmers Market! Today, I was hoping to get a count on which Market each Vendor will be attending and items that will be found in your booth. (The Board has adjusted the fees this year to accommodate the shortened Market season. Tuesday Market 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Constitution Plaza will be $10.00 for the season (Tuesday evenings July 7th - August 4th). No one can unload before 4:00 pm due to the Courthouse/Handicapped Parking. Anytime between 4:15 pm - 5;00 pm you may unload. If you need to utilize the cul-de-sac for unloading you are more than welcome. Please ensure that the South Side of the cul-de-sac is left open for our entertainment to unload and the North Side is left open for one of our Vendors. Saturday Market 9:00 am - 1:00 pm Rugie's Dugout, 6th Street will be $25.00 for the season (Saturday mornings July 4th - October 3rd). Anytime between 8:00 am and 9:00 am can be used for unloading and set up. We utilize the front part of Rugie's parking lot. If you are planning to have a booth on both Tuesdays and Saturdays it will be a combined fee of $30.00 for the season. I will have updated Vendor Applications at the first Markets to hand out.) Are you a Tuesday POP Club Activity or Education Vendor? Can you please send me a list of the Tuesdays you will be attending Market and a list of activities?
During this trying time, Our Board of Directors along with the City of Monticello asks: 1. If any of the vendors show any signs of illness — or if they have tested positive for COVID-19 within the past two weeks or had known contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 — they should not attend the market. 2. All vendor booths must have hand sanitizer and increase the frequency with which they will disinfect surfaces/objects throughout their booths.3. Vendors should take the following precautions for interactions, pricing, payment and bagging:
New vendors if you are unaware of our Power of Produce or POP Club, it is a great asset for our Market on Tuesdays. The Monticello Public Library and the Monticello Parks Dept., have created great programming for our youth at the Market. They issue POP Club Tokens of $2.00, that can be spent at your booth, for only produce, honey and maple syrup. I advise pre-bagged/packaged $2.00 items, because you are not to give out change for these tokens. At the end of Market, the POP Club Volunteers will tally up the tokens spent at your booth and each vendor is reimbursed via cash at the end of the month. With COVID19, there will not be a 2 Bite Club Activity within the POP Club activities this year. SNAP or Food Stamps is accepted at our Market. I have a machine that allows customers to use their HOOSIER Works card at Market. The customers can swipe their card for a certain amount of money. I will give them tokens, that may be used at participating booths, to be spent on SNAP appropriate items. At the end of the market day, vendors can come to me and I will swap their tokens for cash. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions by email or by phone: 574-870-0720. Again, thank you, I'm looking forward to a great first week of the Monticello Farmers Market Season! Thank you, Tracy Davidson Monticello Farmers Market Master
