Our first 2019 Monticello Saturday Farmers Market began yesterday at Rugie's Dugout on 6th Street. We had several vendors who ventured out to sell their wares on a beautiful, sunny, yet windy morning. Crosby Farms was well stocked in farm fresh eggs and beautiful hanging baskets. Harvest of the Fields was out with Jams, Jellies, Preservers, delicious Baked Goods and fresh local Asparagus, Green Onions and Rhubarb. Clawson's Sugar Bush offered their scrumptious locally harvested and made Maple Syrup and Maple Candy. D's Deals offered up fresh local Asparagus, Rhubarb and Honey. Musall's was out with healthy locally grown Herb Plants, fresh local Asparagus, Rhubarb, Green Onions, Kale and Spinach straight from their brand new farm partnership, S.L.O.T. Farms, (expect some great things from this farm in the future folks). Last, but not least a brand new vendor, Dragonfly Farms. Established in 208 and owned and operated by Leah George, Dragonfly farms offered local fresh Cut Flowers, locally grown Annual Flowers/Hanging Baskets, dried and fresh Herbs, Heirloom Vegetable Plants and beautiful hand poured Resin Collectables and Jewelry made with her own pressed flowers.. Watch for more vendors as the season progresses, Mulberry Shade Flower Farm (fresh flowers, herbs, oils, spices and crafts), The Farmer's Table (baked goods, pies, rolls, breads, ect…), Small Batch Honey Farm (fresh local honey). Blackwater Farms (locally grown fresh produce). The Mayor's Advisory Board (flowers, herbs and vegetable plants). The Monticello Farmers Market is always looking for more vendors and all Non For Profit Entities are always given FREE booth space. Our Tuesday Market and Power of Produce program begins May 28th, .5 p.m. - 7 p.m. downtown Monticello in the Constitution Plaza. Keep tuned in for important Market WIC disbursement dates. As always, eat fresh, eat local!

Calling all potential Monticello Farmers Market Vendors...
Join us Monday May 6, 6:30pm in Reynolds at the Purdue Extension Office. This meeting is a great way to network with other vendors. There will also be representatives from the POP Club and White County Extension, with info about WIC, Senior WIC, SNAP and the Health Department. We will go over safe market and food safety practices as well. We will have Vendor Applications at this meeting if you need one.
